At Creature Comforts, our motto is:

     Teaching your dog to sit and wait while you prepare his food, wait to go through an open door, or walk on a leash without pulling or jumping are all easily accomplished with the help of a qualified trainer, and the effect on your dog will be profound. 

     Our pack oriented companions expect to have a specific place in our homes, to know the rules they must live by and the limitations we put upon them. In short, they want to know what is expected of them.

     A well trained dog is a pleasure to live with, and welcome in places where his untrained littermates are not. By providing structure, you reward your dog with a sense of security and well being that will last his entire life, and you will form an even stronger bond of love, respect, and mutual understanding.

TRAINING SERVICES

Group classes in basic, off leash obedience.  (five dog limit).

YOUR DOG WILL LEARN

 DOWN

 STAND

 HEEL (walk at your side and sit when you stop).

 RECALL (on leash)

 RESPOND TO COMMANDS THE FIRST TIME THEY ARE GIVEN AND HOLD THE     COMMAND UNTIL GIVEN A RELEASE.

Private, Basic obedience

 Covers the same commands as the group sessions, but on a one-to-one   basis. Good for dogs with specifice problems such as aggression, or for owners  who need a more flexible schedule.    

Advanced

     Advanced lessons are given only after your dog has completed basic  obedience and are tailored to the owner's needs. OFF LEASH RECALL, is the  most commonly requested use for these lessons, but could include RETRIEVAL, SCENT DETECTION, HUNTING OR ASSISTANCE RELATED ACTIVITIES. 

 At this time we do not offer portection training.

Board and train

 Go on vacation and have a trained dog when you return.

 I will train your dog while he boards in the kennel, then give you lessons on how to apply and maintain the training.

 I will also do in-home training under certain circumstances. Call for details.

Electronic Collar Training

Electronic collars allow you to have control of your dog up to a half a mile away. The training is faster and easier, and your dog will love his new-found freedom.

When doing E-collar training, I use the lowest level of stemulation that will get your dog to respond to commands. I will insist on a brand of collar that allows a wide range of settings so that it can be easily adjusted to your dog's sensitivity. One dog may respond to a 5 setting, while another dog, even of the same breed, may take a 30 setting.

If you are considering E-collar training, please contact me before making a purchase and DO NOT "try it out" on the dog before our training begins. The E-collar is a great tool, but using it incorrectly could cause serious problems with your dog.
